Glasgow School Children Start One Week Countdown to 76th Annual Glasgow Taxi Outing
The countdown is on to the 76th annual, famous Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund trip to Troon – and children from one city primary school are helping volunteers and drivers ramp up the excitement.
This Wednesday, 14th June – exactly one week before the trip from Kelvin Way to Ayrshire on Wednesday, 21st June – Hazelwood Primary School pupils will join Glasgow Taxi Outing Fund volunteers and Glasgow taxi drivers for a colourful photocall which will whet the appetite for the big day.
The 2023 event follows last year’s 75th anniversary celebrations, with Glaswegians again encouraged to give the children a rousing send-off at the iconic Kelvin Way on the morning of Wednesday, 21st June.
Media are warmly welcome to attend this open media event to speak to children, staff, volunteers and drivers – all photo and video content permissions have been cleared in advance.
The famous Glasgow Taxis trip to Troon sees more than 300 children with additional support needs enjoy a day at the seaside thanks to the generosity of 100+ drivers, plus many more volunteers.
