‘Oar’ driver gets Olympic rowing star Katherine Grainger to the Scottish Boat Race starting line
Inter-city rivalry was at its fiercest peak last weekend as Edinburgh and Glasgow’s elite university rowers took to the River Clyde to compete for the 2014 Scottish Boat Race, attracting some brilliant athletes, high-level competition and fantastic support from both universities.
Olympic gold medallist Katherine Grainger was the Official Race Starter for the day, kicking off the main race which ran from Broomielaw Quay to the Riverside Museum.
Glasgow Taxis were delighted to support one of the world’s most prestigious boat races with driver Charlie Hughes making sure sporting star Katherine got to the starting line on time!
